Teaching

At VU Amsterdam I am primarily involved in teaching and leadership for the Global Health Research Master.

I currently serve as the Program Director of the research master Global Health, a 2 year program that trains students in transdisciplinary global health research. I am coordinating the course Interventions for Global Health (Research Master), wherein students design an intervention and its evaluation for a global health challenge and critically reflect on the relation between the two and what this means for the type of solutions and responsibilities assigned.

Previously I coordinated:

  • Infectious Disease and Vaccine Development (Bachelor level)
  • International Public Health (Bachelor level)

In the past, I was part of the core team running and improving the Global Health Master’s of Science at Maastricht University.

Since 2012 I am contributor on qualitative research to the McGill Summer Institute in Infectious Diseases and Global Health (as part of the Advanced TB Diagnostics Course, and the Global Health Diagnostics Course) and together with Amrita Daftary successfully launched the annual Qualitative Methods in Global Infectious Disease Research Course in 2017.
